Aliza King is an accomplished Communications professional who is helping the City of Surrey shape and elevate their internal communications landscape to cultivate a safe, engaging and inclusive workplace; a place where everyone can thrive.

In her role as the Employee Engagement & Communications Lead, Aliza uses her expertise in developing and executing strategic communication plans to deliver clear messages and engaging narratives to inform, involve and inspire the City’s employees. She is passionate about storytelling and believes that effective communication is at the heart of building a connected and healthy workplace.

Prior to finding her passion in internal communication, Aliza was supporting organizations with building strong digital brands and cultivating engaged online communities through social media. Her roles included a time as the City of Surrey’s Social Media Coordinator where she played an integral role in shaping the City of Surrey’s social media strategy, which was awarded a UBCM Community Excellence Award for Best Practices, Social Media.

Outside of work, Aliza enjoys hiking, movies and exploring new places.
