With her expertise as a registered psychologist Nina highlights the importance of the individual experience and the pivotal role workplaces hold in preventing, supporting and reducing burnout.

Interview Guest Bio:  

Nina Hornjatkevyc is the Counselling Director at Canada Career Counselling and Synthesis Psychology. She is an experienced Registered Psychologist, Career Counsellor and Career Coach who is passionate about helping people to develop their careers and wellbeing in their lives. Since 2004, she has worked in the Career and Personal Counselling field in private practice, consulting, post-secondary and community settings. She has worked with thousands of clients individually and thousands more as a presenter.

Her areas of specialty include career planning and development, resilience, managing burnout, stress, transitions, and supporting work-life wellness. She enjoys collaborating with individual contributors through to senior leaders to support key intersections between work and additional priorities in life. She also develops and facilitates learning programs to support employee mental health, professional and personal development and navigating transitions.

Nina is a Registered Psychologist and a member of the College of Alberta Psychologists and the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta. She completed a Master of Science degree in Counselling Psychology at the University of Calgary. Her Master’s thesis research explored grief and loss experiences. Nina also completed Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Arts degrees at the University of Alberta, focusing on psychology and performance.
