Volunteer Opportunities

Join Our Board of Directors

Founded in 1985 the Work Wellness Institute is a non-profit organization that conducts and supports global research, mobilizing knowledge that positively impacts workplace health practices. Our goal is to lead evidence-informed change through continued collaborative work with partners across academia, industry, government, and community.

The Work Wellness Institute is currently seeking individuals to join its volunteer Board of Directors, particularly individuals who have prior Board experience with non-profit organizations. The initial Board membership term is one year, with possible renewal. Board members are appointed at the Annual General Meeting, which will be held in late November 2021.

Members of the Board work in collaboration to advance the vision and mission of the organization raising the profile of the organization in the community. As a member of the Board, each member assists in increasing the organization’s credibility, fundraising efforts, and public relation efforts bringing professional skills and unique talents with them that are useful to the organization.

The Board meets quarterly. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, all board meetings are currently being held virtually until further notice. Expected time commitment for this role is about 2 hours per month but may vary according to other events or other on-going initiatives.

We welcome candidates with experience in the following areas:

  • Research
  • Legal
  • Fundraising
  • Marketing and Public Relations
  • Human Resources
  • Workplace health and wellness

This is a great opportunity for those who would like to apply their expertise in a non-profit organization or for the emerging professionals who would like to develop their skills and gain experience through volunteer work. If you enjoy working as a part of a team and have good communication and interpersonal skills, let us know about you!
