Nicole Liddell is the Vice President of People & Culture at InvestX Capital, the Marketplace for pre-IPO Giants offering clients access to the private equity asset class. Previously, she was VP HR & Operations at the Real Estate Council of BC, the provincial crown agency responsible for protecting consumers in the regulation of 26,000 real estate professionals. Her portfolio included leadership and oversight for HR and engagement, technology, communications, business reporting and analytics, governance, risk and facility services.
An accomplished HR professional, Nicole has more than 20 years of previous experience in HR leadership roles and is certified in change management, coaching, governance, psychometric assessment tools and all facets of HR practice. Her achievements include leading significant transformation projects, realizing multi-year cost savings, and driving operational maturity at some of BC’s largest employers – TELUS, BC Hydro, Canfor and Ledcor. Nicole is a strong executive leader with a reputation for systems and strategic thinking, complex problem solving, and developing people while achieving operational results.
Prior to working in HR, Nicole had a successful career in recreation facility management in the public and private club sectors, where she honed her passion for customer service and risk management. Nicole also brings 30 years of not-for-profit volunteer experience and more than five years of for-profit board experience in sport, community-based, advocacy, and entrepreneurial organizations including executive, leadership, and committee head positions. Her experience extends to participating on hybrid, working, and governance board models at the local, provincial, and national levels.
Nicole is the current appointed Governor of the BC & Yukon Branch with the Lifesaving Society (Royal Life Saving Society Canada), a not-for-profit organization she’s contributed to for more than three decades. She is also a past board member at Douglas College and several other community-based organizations.
Recognized for her substantial accomplishments and service, Nicole was awarded with the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal in 2002 by the Governor General of Canada, Honorary Life Member in 2014 by the Royal Life Saving Society Commonwealth, and the 125th Anniversary Certificate of Merit in 2016 by His Royal Highness, Prince Michael of Kent.
