Traditionally, Canadian studies in this area are cross-sectional with small datasets and so the scope and impact in Canada are unclear. Led by Dr. Karen Harlos from the University of Winnipeg and funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), the team brings together interdisciplinary researchers across Canada, the UK, Germany, and Denmark, as well as decisionmakers and policy analysts from partner organizations, to produce large datasets using longitudinal, multimethod research. In this webinar, we describe the unique collaboration with the Manitoba Teacher’s Society (MTS)—a provincial organization representing 15,000 public school teachers on a variety of topics including labour matters, collective bargaining and professional issues—to pursue our shared goals of preventing workplace bullying and mistreatment and promoting safe and inclusive schools for educators.
