The purpose of Communicating Your Research is to help you: present your ideas clearly, improve your engagement, capitalize on your storytelling and clarify your recommendations. The program will help you prepare and deliver a presentation on your research using proven strategies and templates that reduce your preparation time and increase your effectiveness.

Do you have unique insights or research that you would like to share or an existing presentation you would like to improve upon? This course will help you to organize your ideas and present them in a persuasive and interesting way. Whether you are creating a presentation from scratch or re-vamping an old presentation, this course will help to prepare you to present your information in a way that clearly communicates your desired impact.

Learning Outcomes

Clarify the purpose of your presentation
Adapt the presentation of your research to your audience
Engage your audience using relevant stories, anecdotes and metaphors
Make key elements more memorable using statements and rhetorical questions
Use appropriate visual aids and props to support your message
Develop effective openings and conclusions
Present your research including: challenges, data themes, solutions and key findings
Use PowerPoint (or equivalent) in a minimalistic, yet professional way
Be innovative with your delivery and presentation of content
Manage anxiety and the imposter syndrome
Communicate your research effectively within the allotted time

Speakers

Dene Rossouw
Dene is the Principal Learning Facilitator at tear Possibil. He has facilitated hundreds of programs in Africa and Canada. He is a certified coach and known for his ability to encourage learning, demystify complexity and explain processes using transferable concepts and dynamic models. Dene is the author of two books -A Complicated Love and Credible: The Six Leadership Conversations. He is the co-creator of Back.Chat, the anti-bullying web app and is an avid wildlife photographer in his spare time.

How can I receive a certificate for a course that I have attended?

If you hold a membership with Work Wellness Institute, a certificate of completion will be sent to your email after meeting the requirements of the course or lecture on demand. Please note that a minimum 50-minute attendance is required to be eligible for a certificate of completion.

What is the difference between Corporate membership & Individual membership?

Corporate memberships are Corporate organizations that have partnered with the Work Wellness Institute to have access to membership benefits for all its employees. This membership includes additional perks beyond the individual membership. Voting rights at the Annual General Meeting are 1 vote per organization.
