We will review and discuss the results of a grounded theory investigation of how employees with disabilities are treated on the job. Priority talking points will include the types of workplace treatment reported by the participants; the emotional toll of workplace mistreatment; how employees respond to workplace mistreatment; and the intersection of individual, disability, and workplace environment in the treatment of employees with disabilities. We will conclude with a discussion of how disability service providers can partner with all stakeholders to ensure workplace inclusion of employees with disabilities.

Speakers

Lynn C. Koch, Ph.D., CRC
Lynn C. Koch, Ph.D., CRC is a Professor of Rehabilitation Counseling in the Counselor Education Program at the University of Arkansas where she has been employed since 2006. Prior to joining the University of Arkansas faculty, she served as the Coordinator of the Rehabilitation Counseling Program at Kent State University and was a faculty member in the Center for Disability Studies for ten years. A nationally Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, Dr. Koch received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Arizona and her doctorate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Koch’s most prominent research interest is the vocational and psychosocial implications of emerging disabilities. Since completing her doctorate in 1996, she has authored or co-authored more than 125 publications including professional journal articles; book chapters; and two books, Emerging Issues in Rehabilitation Counseling and Rehabilitation Counseling and Emerging Disabilities. Dr. Koch has received numerous awards for her research.

How can I receive a certificate for a course that I have attended?

If you hold a membership with Work Wellness Institute, a certificate of completion will be sent to your email after meeting the requirements of the course or lecture on demand. Please note that a minimum 50-minute attendance is required to be eligible for a certificate of completion.

What is the difference between Corporate membership & Individual membership?

Corporate memberships are Corporate organizations that have partnered with the Work Wellness Institute to have access to membership benefits for all its employees. This membership includes additional perks beyond the individual membership. Voting rights at the Annual General Meeting are 1 vote per organization.
